On (food inspired) CERAMIC SCULPTURES, that is! :) :) :)
Right before winter break, we held heated debates about what our favorite foods were. And I am bein' real when I tell ya, it got heavy! These outstanding students take their foods very seriously!
In lieu of the year coming to a close, we each thought about what we would choose for our 'last supper' if we could only eat one thing on new years eve. Check out these mouth watering results!
Student artists got to decide whether to make their last supper sculptures functional or purely aesthetic. I just LOVE LOVE LOVE these, you guys! Art-teacherin' is just way too fun, y'all!
Are ya hungry yet?!!?! I know I sure am! Perhaps we see an art-y party in the near future ....
Next up, the art club will be teaching (yes, TEACHING!) a workshop on mosaic medallion making at the first inaugural Jax Maker's Faire at MOSH on Saturday, Feb. 16th. Be sure to come out and support the incredible young artists from James Weldon Johnson as they teach their very own class! (Link below:)
This one's gonna be epic, folks! Signing off. Stop into Ms. Holloway's art room again soon, won't ya!
