Students in Ms. Holloway's Art room have completed their first large project (the Graffiti Tags), and we stayed focused on the cross curricular connection between reading, writing, lettering, and Art by moving onto a graphic design illustration project that incorporated visual AND textual content.
Students had to come up with a phrase that inspired them, or described them, and illustrate it while also including the text in their drawing using different font styles for their lettering. We discussed different careers that this artistic skill can lead to such as working in advertising, magazines, television, book design, and so many more. I'm pretty inspired myself seeing their finished pieces :)
