The JWJ artists were given the assignment to locate something in Ms. Holloway's art room and draw it as close to reality as they possibly could at this point in their artistic career. The added challenge ...
they had a timer set to ONLY TEN MINUTES! That's right, a TIMED sketch!
First period is getting ready to start their Empty Bowls project next week and boy, oh boy, are they excited about it! We have two bowls each that we can create- one to donate to the cause (check out the link below), the second will be one the artists can take home. Startin' ceramics early this year!

Third and fourth periods will be creating their radial symmetrical mandala plates and their rough drafts are almost complete. Y'all will be blown away with these incredible ceramic creations, yayyy!!!
5th, 6th, and 7th periods will be starting on their final papers Monday to complete their color wheel surreal eyeball projects. We learned about Salvador Dali and the surrealists this past week, and will be implementing our color theory curriculum into a surreal watercolor eyeball piece.
The JWJ artists have been having a lot of fun getting unique ideas for this one, and I am beyond eager to see the masterpieces they turn out on this one. Y'all, get ready to see some awesomeness!!!
These sunshine standards don't even know what's about to hit them, folks! Art is in everything!!!
And just for fun, I had to share this last one ... when my phone is left unattended in the art room for too long, I open up the picture gallery to find these special gems (insert eye roll followed by giggles)
Have a super fabulous weekend, everyone! Get inspired and create something amazing, yay, ART!!!
