Half of Ms. Holloway's artroom is virtual and the other half of my classes are in-person so the blog will look much different this school year. Teachers have A TON MORE WORK TO DO than usual and I will be combining a few months of projects and updates into each post because mama ain't got no time! ***I still gotta keep you all in the loop so bare with me this year, PRETTY PLEASE!***
Aside from the usual day-to-day vocab and curriculum, we have a classroom YouTube channel where I have been compiling all of the student artists' submissions from each unit into virtual gallery videos so that EVERYONE can see and appreciate each others' work whether they are in the classroom or creating their projects at home. Our "Pet Portraiture" project was a major success. Watch the gallery video and celebrate with us how exceptionally talented the JWJ artists are! Mind BLOWN!!!!! :)
I was just thinking that if you are as impressed as I am by their pet portraits then ya might want to make one of your own! If that is the case, then right above this text box is the lesson video that students watched with the PowerPoint slideshow that maps out all of the instructions. Go for it!
Next up, we covered the element of art: LINE in a photography project. These are some of my favorite submissions so far this year for real. We spent three days going on scavenger hunts in and around the classroom and our homes looking for LINES. We covered the importance of composition, angles, depth of field, and so much more. The artists knocked this one out of the ballpark. WATCH!!!
As we move through our unit on the elements of art we covered the element: VALUE next and used drawing as our medium. Not just any regular drawing however, but we created "SHATTERED VALUE DRAWINGS" and they turned out beyond super cool! Watch the gallery video of these masterpieces!!
Now that you have all had your minds blown and socks knocked off you can go and SUBSCRIBE to the classroom YouTube channel! That way even if I don't post the virtual gallery videos on the blog you can always watch them in real time online! DO IT! (Please!) (And thank you!) :):):):):):):)
