So, one of the things that makes Art teachering so super fun is being able to pass on your love of creating (((anything!!!))) to young inspiring minds. Mosaic making has become my new creative addiction over the past few years, and even though all of my spare time at home is spent this way, who says I can't bring this love into my classroom as well! And maybe, just maybe, this practice will catch on and spread amongst a few of my aspiring Artist grasshoppers too .........
As most of you know, the Artists at James Weldon have been preparing for a large scale mosaic mural that's to be installed downtown this year. Thanks to a grant received by two UNF students and the handiwork of Kate and Kenny Rouh of RouxArt, (and of course, the love and labor and dedication of yours truly!), our magical mosaic mural is coming closer and closer to fruition! Tylin and Noelle have visited me and my kiddos twice now to supply extra tiles and spend a little time creating masterpieces of their own alongside the featured JWJ Artists. I am brimming with excitement for this upcoming project, y'all! Please stay tuned for dates and info on how you can volunteer on the wall, and put your own touch of creativity onto something incredible and permanent here in our city!!!
YAY, ART!!!!!!!!!
Holy Cow, right??!?! Good things are happening!!!!!!!!!
