As with any transition though, we just go with the flow, and keep on rollin right along, and smile!
As a bell ringer every day, the artists in Ms. Holloway's room begin class with ten minutes of silent sketch time to get our creative juices flowing. Just because this one was so fun, I am posting a few pics from the day we were prompted to "pimp my crib" and design our dream houses!
Students have been moving from 2 dimensional projects into 3D works as we created our paper sculpture cubes this week using zentangle patterns and designs and water color backgrounds!
Check out a few of the finished pieces before I hang them from my ceiling and make the Art room look even MORE FUN!!! Great work, guys!!!
As promised, below is the vocabulary from Unit 1 to study for our first quiz which will take place October 12th and 13th. Click on the patterned image to download a printable version to study from!
And as soon as these quizzes are out of the way, we move from paper sculptures to CLAY sculptures!
The mosaic project we are creating downtown this year will have our small clay medallions as well as the cement "blobs" we are making here in a few weeks. How amazingly LUCKY are we that our JWJ artists get to install a PERMANENT mural for the public to view downtown for decades to come!!!
You guys don't even KNOW how excited I am about this incredible opportunity! More info to come ...
