It is crazy challenging to only pick 25 works of art, and to know that only a few of those works will even be selected to go on display in the exhibition. This was a pretty stellar year for the JWJ artists however, because we had 18 pieces chosen! And they were ALL very deserving.
Out of 30 middle schools that also have art teachers who go through this same process, it is a major honor for each student whose work gets selected and displayed in the county exhibition. Congratulations to all of my incredible young artists! Check out these masterpieces you guys!!!!
I mean, YOU GUYS!!!!!!!!! Their work is mind blowing, right??!?! I tear up way too often. True story.
A ton of things have happened in the last month though and I won't just bombard you with all of these award winners because we have to save room in this months' post for everyone else too!
Since Ms. Holloway serves on the board for the North East Florida Art Educator's Association, she was one of four art "edu-carers" in the county lucky enough to help hang the entire exhibition the day before anyone else got to see it! I would LOVE to post every single picture I took, here's a few!
The awards reception was on on April 17th and the show will remain on display through May 7th at FSCJ's Deerwood campus in the college art gallery. You still have time to see it for yourself, so go!!!
Here, we have Ms. Holloway and Harshitha describing their art making processes to the SUPERINTENDENT Dr. Greene! Yeah ... no big deal ... (Insert all the smiles in the world right here!!!)
